Visco-Elastic Haemostatic Assays
Visco-Elastic Haemostatic Assays
Visco-elastic haemostatic assays are point of care clotting assays probably better known as either TEG or ROTEM.
They feature in the curriculum in guise as 'measurement of coagulation of the blood and interpretation of data' and 'Describes [the] rationale for point of care testing'.
They are most evidence-based in cardiac surgery, but could feature in questions on major haemorrhage in other domains such as obstetrics or major trauma.
